Design the Life You Want : Think Outside the Lines

Do you long to be inspired? Motivated?

Do you want to make a difference in the world, but don’t know where or how to begin?

If so, then you’ve come to the right place. And I’d like to invite you to Think Outside The Lines.

In each episode, I talk with people who are out there designing the life of their dreams…People who are following their bliss.

My goal is to provide you with endless insight and inspiration.

Lets get started.

So…Why this podcast? Why think outside the lines, and why now?

As children, we are taught to color-and they teach us to stay within the lines. Because thats what looks pretty. We’re told thats whats best.

And then as adults, we continue this path of aspiring for perfection, only things don’t always turn out perfectly.

In my own life, I’ve come to appreciate the imperfection, just as much as the things that are perfect.

Some of the most extraordinary people I have ever met are those who’ve challenged stereotypes—they took risks, they sought out experiences outside of their comfort zone. They defied the odds to show the world that you can do things against the grain, outside of the status quo—you just have to think outside the lines.

Outside of the lines. Outside of your comfort zone. Outside of your normal way of thinking—thats where the magic happens. That is where you expand your horizons and experience things on a new level.

And my goal with this podcast is to challenge you to live that life. Regardless of where you are in your journey, you can get to where you what to be with the right tools and resources.

I started this podcast because I recognize that the world is changing. There is a movement happening all over the world. People want to actively participate in their lives. People are tired of remaining stagnant. They are seeking more. More passion, more stimulation. More inspiration. We don't want to be told what to do and when to do it. We want freedom, both time and financial. We want to live the life we want. On our terms.

And the best part: all of this is possible. And more.

There are more resources at our disposal today than there have ever been. The Internet has opened up a world of educational possibilities that are available to anyone with a desire to better their life circumstance. One piece of knowledge at a time.

I'm fascinated by the idea of challenging the status quo.

A life of complacency and mediocrity is typically served to us after college, if you get that far. And I know so many people who have attempted that life, only to wind up miserable, severely in debt, depressed…the list goes on.

That life has never resonated with me. And I know I'm not the only one.

There are people all over the world who have discovered ways to design the life they want. The life of their dreams. And I'm fascinated by their stories. I'm compelled to share them with you.

My guests range from all walks of life....people at entirely different phases in their journeys. But one thing remains consistent: they all believe they have a purpose. And that purpose is to leave the word better than they found it.

In each episode, I’ll talk with people who are out there making it happen— achieving success on their terms.

I’ll talk to people who are at the top of their game.

But I’ll also be talking to people, just like yourself perhaps, who are on their way up.

Those who are still down in the trenches with the rest of us. I believe their stories are just as —if not more— impactful because they are the most relatable.

I've always known that I have something to contribute during my limited time on this planet, but I never knew how I could wake up every day and feel like I was living my life on purpose.

A while ago, I began listening to podcasts and reading blogs, where I learned about people who leveraged technology to create the life that they wanted.

I was excited.

But I felt stuck.

I found myself overwhelmed by so much information that was out there.

I couldn’t really figure out where to start.

It occurred to me that I felt stuck because there were gaps in my knowledge and understanding.

My intention is to fill in the gaps and clue you in on the missing pieces though these conversations.

I’m so inspired by people who are out there making an impact. And if I can help propel that movement forward in any way possible, I want to contribute.

I’ve always longed to have a better understanding of who I am and I can leverage that to help others.

I want the time and the relationships I build to be productive.

I want to be the best possible version of myself that I can be.

My goal is to have those big conversations about what makes us better, and how we get there.

All over the world, People are waking up to the idea that you don’t have to live the status quo. That true bliss isn’t reserved for an exclusive set of individuals. That it can be experienced here and now, and that your life truly can be whatever you choose to make it.

When I initially conceived of the idea for this podcast, my intention was to base it around the concept of entrepreneurship- I believe that because of the internet, we live in a world today where anyone with an idea can start a business, share their talent with the world, or both.

Because of this, an entirely new generation of entrepreneurs are redefining lifestyle design, and I’m so excited by that idea.

But as I began to talk with more and more people, I started to realize that it wasn’t just entrepreneurs who were out there making a difference in the world. There are people everywhere who are following their bliss, helping others, and doing their part to make the world a better place. I found myself inspired just as much by their stories.

And while I will continue to use entrepreneurship as the filter for many of these conversations, my ultimate goal with this podcast is to leave you at the end of each episode with a sense of inspiration.

I want to help you to see that no matter what your dream or your passion, that there are people out there making it happen. And if they can do it, there is absolutely no reason why you can’t be out there doing it too.

I ask each of my guests to share some of their best tools and resources to stay in the zone, and to remain inspired.

If there is anything I believe, its that success leaves clues, and I’m asking my guests to share these clues with you.

My mission with this podcast is simple:

I want to help you create the most amazing life you can possibly dream of.

I believe this can be done because there are so many other people out there who are making it happen.

And my plan is to share their stories and insight with you, in an attempt to help you realize that whatever you dream of is possible.

My hope is that though these conversations, you are inspired to have bigger and bolder conversations with those in your immediate realm.

All over the world, there are real conversations are taking place about the things that truly matter in life.

I encourage you to join more of those conversations. Beyond that, I encourage you to start, and to facilitate these conversations. Leave your mark on the world in a positive way.

There are so many ways you can contribute.

I want to say thank you to the early supporters and believers : To all of my guests who agreed to let me interview them when this podcast was just an idea in its early stages.

Thank you for bearing you heart and soul to me, in an effort to demonstrate that all of us are on this path together, and that it truly is possible to change the world one person at a time.

I’ve already learned so much from this experience: mainly just that getting started is the hardest part. But that once you get started, and declare your intentions, everything else just seems to fall into place.

I hope you will listen to the next, and to all future episodes...And I hope they have a positive impact on your life.

I thank you for listening.
